ADOPTION PROCESS

Interested in adopting? Here's what you need to know about our adoption process and requirements.

  • Your first step to finding your best friend is to look at the adoptable animals available.  These can be seen on the sites Euclid Pet Pals Facebook, Petfinder, and AdoptaPet.
  • For DOGS, please message us on Facebook, through one of the adoption sites, or email us directly at euclidpetpals2@yahoo.com You can also stop in to the shelter to see the available dogs, but meet and greets must be arranged in the above manner.  If you own other dogs, you must bring them to the meet and greet to make sure they are compatible with the dog you are interested in.
  • For CATS, walk-ins are welcome Tuesday-Saturday, 12-4.
  • During the meet and greet, a volunteer will tell you all about the pet and will ask questions as to your home environment  (fenced-in yard, other pets or children in the home, lifestyle, etc.) to make sure it's a right fit.
  • After you have found your new best friend, you will then complete an adoption application.  If you wish to fill out the adoption application before you come to the shelter, the forms can be found here:

              Cat Adoption Application

              Dog Adoption Application

PLEASE NOTE:  Completion of an application

does not in any way guarantee the adoption

              of any animal.

  • If you rent, we require a copy of your lease agreement stating you are allowed to have the pet and any restrictions that might apply.
  • After all of the paperwork is completed and approved, you will pay the nonrefundable adoption fee and take your pet home!  Please feel free to contact us at 216-289-2057 or   euclidpetpals2@yahoo.com with any questions that might arise.
  • Please note that all cats/kittens must leave the shelter in a carrier. If you do not bring one with you, a cardboard carrier must be purchased at the shelter for $8.00 cash.

Please consider before adopting a new family member that there is always an adjustment period with any “new” pet. They need to adjust to you and you to them. This can take a few weeks or a few months.
